Suprapubic Malecot Catheters has a flower shaped Malecot which is extensively used in self draining of thick viscous fluids. The malecot catheter with the needle is placed inside small fluid filled cavities of renal pelvis for enhanced drainage of body fluids such as urine, bile and pus.

A Malecot suprapubic catheter is a surgical device used to drain the bladder or other cavities in the body, and has several uses, including:

The catheter is inserted through a hole in the abdomen and directly into the bladder. The procedure can be performed under general anesthesia, epidural, or local anesthesia. The catheter will need to be changed every 4 to 6 weeks.
